What they’re saying about John Katko’s huge lead & DCCC’s massive failure

October 4, 2016

Remember when the DCCC made their NY-24 strategy all about tying John Katko to the presidential race? Yeah, that didn’t work at all. According to new Time Warner Cable News/Siena College poll, Katko is currently leading Colleen Deacon by 19 points. More importantly, Katko has strong bipartisan support among men and women.

Here’s what they are saying:

dandc “Freshman Republican Rep. John Katko has a 19-point lead in his bid for re-election, even though most likely voters also say they plan to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton”

“Experts say Katko is getting cross over support”
Time Warner Cable News

auburn-citizen “What’s more interesting: Twenty-eight percent of Democrats would vote for Katko, while 13 percent of GOP voters would back Deacon.”
Auburn Citizen

post-standard“Katko…leads two-to-one among independent voters and has twice as much support from Democrats (28 percent) than Deacon has from Republicans (13 percent).”

NRCC Comment: “John Katko has been an extremely effective bipartisan voice for Central New York. The DCCC has spent nearly two years insulting the intelligence of Central New York voters by attempt to make the NY-24 race all about the presidential campaign. This poll shows that Central New York voters are far more intelligent that the DCCC gives them credit for.” -NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
