Yesterday, the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce announced that it was forced to cancel its debate, scheduled for Monday October 10, “due to (Democrat) Angie Craig’s decision not to participate.” A campaign spokesman told Minnesota Public Radio that Craig had a conflict with the date, but didn’t elaborate on what that conflict is.

Well, thanks to the DFL, we already know what is creating the conflict, as the party is already advertising a joint fundraising appearance with Angie Craig and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. That’s right – Angie Craig is canceling a debate to campaign with one of the most toxic figures in American politics.

At least Angie Craig is clearing up where her priorities lie. While less than a month ago, Craig refused to commit to backing Pelosi for Speaker, Craig has made clear where she stands, deciding it would be in her campaign’s best interest to raise money with Nancy Pelosi instead of discussing the issues facing Minnesota families with her opponents.

NRCC Comment: “Angie Craig’s decision to cancel a debate appearance to campaign with toxic former Speaker Nancy Pelosi is disappointing but not surprising. By choosing a campaign event with Nancy Pelosi over a debate on the issues important to Minnesota voters, Angie Craig is confirming that her priorities lie with the Washington liberal elite, not with 2nd District families.” – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
