Do House Democrats agree with Bill Clinton on Obamacare?

At a campaign appearance this week, Bill Clinton offered a damning critique of Obamacare, calling it a “crazy system,” that results in hardworking people seeing their insurance premiums rise sharply, even as their coverage gets cut. Clinton went on to say that small business people and individuals who make too much to qualify for subsidies are “getting killed” by Obamacare.

This is likely the first time we’ve ever said this, but Bill Clinton is 100% right in his assessment of Obamacare. It is clear that the health care law has been a disaster for American families, as premiums have spiked, co-ops have failed across the country, and insurance companies have pulled out of exchanges at an alarming rate, eliminating competition in many markets and leaving consumers with few, if any, choices.

But through all of it, House Democrats have stood firmly in support of Obamacare, blocking all efforts to reform the disastrous, and unpopular, law. Former President Clinton is now the highest profile Democrat to criticize Obamacare. Will House Democrats, and Democrat challengers, finally acknowledge that Bill Clinton is right, and Obamacare is a disaster? Or will they keep standing idly by as Obamacare wreaks further havoc on our health care system?

NRCC Comment: “With even former President Bill Clinton acknowledging that Obamacare has been a disaster for American families, House Democrats and Democrat challengers must answer whether they will continue to stand by the failed health care law. Do House Democrats and Democrat challengers agree with Bill Clinton that Obamacare is a ‘crazy system,’ or will they continue to bury their heads in the sand as insurance premiums skyrocket, and quality health care is put even further out of the reach of middle-class families?” – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
