Jim Mowrer is Adamant: the Death Tax Doesn’t Exist

October 27, 2016

Last night’s debate was a doozy for Democratic candidate Jim Mowrer. Not only did Mowrer show blind partisanship by refusing to stand in support of Sarah’s Law but he adamantly stated “there is no such thing as the death tax.” This is the same death tax Mowrer supported during his failed 2014 congressional campaign and Hillary Clinton vows to increase.

Jim Mowrer’s attempt to squash the existence of the death tax is nothing more than an effort to skirt around his own support for policies that could devastate Iowa’s farms and small businesses. How can he help Iowa’s 3rd District when he turns a blind eye to what is causing their hardships?

NRCC Comment: “Jim Mowrer is trying to mislead voters on his support for the devastating Death Tax by bizarrely stating it doesn’t exist. This is just another example of how out of touch Mowrer is with the people of Iowa’s 3rd District and the issues they care most about.”- NRCC Spokeswoman Kate Constantini
