As a lawyer, what does Morgan Carroll think about the FBI’s reopened investigation?

October 31, 2016

As a lawyer, Morgan Carroll has a unique perspective on the FBI’s decision to reopen its case into Hillary Clinton. Given her legal background, here are a few questions to which Carroll, a lawyer and congressional candidate, can provide a distinct view for 6th District voters:

  • Does Morgan Carroll believe that the FBI and a federal judge followed appropriate legal statutes in obtaining a warrant by demonstrating probable cause that a crime was committed and that the evidence in question would directly pertain to the investigation?
  • If not, does Morgan Carroll believe the FBI and a federal judge violated Huma Abedin’s constitutional rights against improper search and seizure?
  • If Carroll believes that the FBI and a federal judge acted properly in obtaining and issuing a warrant, does she have any qualms about Democrats accusing FBI Director James Comey of violating the Hatch Act? Phrased differently, if a warrant was obtained while meeting the threshold for probable cause and relevant evidence, does Carroll agree with President Obama that Director Comey was not attempting to influence the election and acted appropriately?
  • If Carroll agrees with President Obama that Director Comey acted appropriately, will she call on Hillary Clinton’s campaign and allies to stop attacking the Director of the FBI for doing his job?

NRCC Spokesman: “Voters deserve to know where trial lawyer Morgan Carroll stands on the FBI’s reopened investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. Carroll, a practicing lawyer and congressional candidate, has a legal background that puts her in a unique spot to comment on the issue dominating local and national races just 8 days before the election and she owes it to 6th District voters to tell them where she stands.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
