Unaffordable: Premiums Increase By 105% Under Obamacare

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, average monthly premiums rose 105 percent since 2013 under Obamacare.

Families are now forced to pay $252 more a month on average due to the failed law.

While House Democrats continue to obstruct the efforts of Republicans to fix the broken health care system, more and more people will find themselves with no choices under this unaffordable law.

“Obamacare premiums are up 105 percent over the past four years, according to areport released by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Tuesday.

HHS reported that the “[a]verage monthly premiums” for an individual plan onHealthCare.gov “increased from $224 in 2013 to $476 in 2017.” A majority of U.S. states (39) useHealthCare.gov, rather than a state based exchange (SBE).

The key finding from HHS?

For these 39 states … the average monthly premiums purchased in the individual market in 2013 and the 2017 average monthly exchange plan premium, showing a $244 and 105% increase. The median state percent increase was 108%.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) jumped on the report, with Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel saying “it is no surprise Obamacare is in a death spiral.” McDaniel added that “Democrats have saddled Americans with a healthcare system that has failed people all across our country.”
