this won’t go over well

Democrats running for Congress in New York might want to start running from Andrew Cuomo first.

Last Thursday, Cuomo threatened to call a special legislative session if lawmakers “go home and they are not assaulted by the residents of their district and chased back to Albany.” That was a week after a gunman opened fire on Republican lawmakers in Virginia, badly wounding Congressman Steve Scalise.

Now he’s set to announce a $2.3 billion tax increase on New York families if Congress passes the American Health Care Act.

With New York spending more on Medicaid than Florida and Texas combined, Cuomo would rather increase taxes than get his fiscal house in order.
