unacceptable

July 25, 2017

On the same day Democrats rolled out their new slogan in response to Americans believing they didn’t stand for anything, these same Democrats voted en masse against a common-sense bill to give veterans the choice of where to seek healthcare.

By voting against this bill, Ami Bera, Salud Carbajal, Raul Ruiz, Scott Peters, Tom O’Halleran, Ruben Kihuen, Ben Ray Lujan, Peter DeFazio, and Kurt Schrader voted AGAINST:

  • Providing $2 billion to ensure the extension of the Veterans Choice Program
  • Preventing the shuttering of a program that has provided care to more than 1.2 million veterans
  • Protecting veterans from being trapped in the VA system rather than allowing them to choose their own healthcare provider

There are:

  • 46,919 veterans in Ami Bera’s CA-7
  • 39,468 veterans in Salud Carbajal’s CA-24
  • 45,179 veterans in Raul Ruiz’s CA-36
  • 53,825 veterans in Scott Peters’ CA-52
  • 53,482 veterans in Tom O’Halleran’s AZ-1
  • 57,906 veterans in Ruben Kihuen’s NV-4
  • 44,397 veterans in Ben Ray Lujan’s NM-3
  • 71,217 veterans in Peter DeFazio’s OR-4
  • 58,998 veterans in Kurt Schrader’s OR-5

These brave veterans who served our country will be reminded of this unacceptable vote come 2018.
