Doug Applegate is angry. He thinks that because he ran against Darrell Issa last time, he deserves a coronation in the Democratic primary.
Additionally, Applegate’s own campaign predicted the primary would be very nasty, likely costing $8 million just to survive before facing the well-funded and popular Issa.
