You’re going to want to read this: Colorado Politics: Congressional candidate Levi Tillemann says top House Democrat Steny Hoyer urged him to end primary campaign

According to the publication, Hoyer told progressive Levi Tillemann “a decision had been made ‘very early on’” by leaders in DC that Jason Crow was their candidate, and Tillemann should end his campaign.

And, further demonstrating that Crow excites exactly no one – not even the Washington establishment propping him up – Hoyer added: “I’m for Crow… I don’t know Crow. I didn’t participate in the decision. But a decision was made…”

Levi’s not happy about it. “It’s about a systemic effort to disenfranchise Democratic voters,” he told Colorado Politics. “It’s a form of voter suppression.”

This story proves Democrats aren’t just concerned about nasty primaries wrecking their chances to compete in key districts; they’re actively trying to suppress progressives from running or attacking their pet candidates. They’re going to have to do better than this if they want to stop the circular firing squad.
