If there’s one thing that unites the clown car primary field of Democrats in NY-19, it’s their refusal to cross Andrew Cuomo.

With the exception of former Cuomo staffer and Winnebago pollution enthusiast Gareth Rhodes, every single one of the candidates refuses to say who they would support in the divisive gubernatorial primary.

Debate moderator: “Just to clarify before we leave this point behind, you’re all running in a Democratic primary and many listeners will be voting in the statewide primary. As of May 31^st, no one on this stage is willing to say whether they’re for Cynthia Nixon or Andrew Cuomo?”

All but Rhodes combined: “Correct.”

I guess fear really is a powerful motivator…
