“Abolish ICE!”—The Radical Left’s New Rallying Cry

The Democratic Party continues to lurch farther to the left with each passing day.

Over the past few months, the party has adopted increasingly far-left policies to appease progressives. This Bernie Sanders wing has forced the entire Democratic Party to move away from moderate policies that appeal to a broader audience of voters, and instead rally around extremist policies:

Freed from the constraints of power, Democrats are becoming a progressive ideas factory.

On issues like health care, immigration, jobs, and crime, once-fringe policy proposals are gaining traction with lawmakers, activists, and wonks as they debate the party’s path out of its current wilderness.

Democrats’ latest rallying cry? “Abolish ICE!”

Insurgent Democratic candidates have been calling for the dismantling of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for months, and in recent days four sitting members of the House have joined them, with one announcing this week that he’ll introduce the first legislation to do away with the agency.

But as election day draws nearer and Democrats continue to move farther to the left, the only people pleased with the party’s state of play are the ideologically-pure base voters. Voters at-large are unlikely to get behind such radical ideas and will turn instead to the party that can provide more rational, sound-minded policies—the Republican Party.
