Angie Craig is a hero

Angie Craig is a hero.

Sorry, let me rephrase that. Angie Craig is one of Joe Kennedy’s “health care heroes.”

At first glance, this isn’t so surprising. After all, Craig spent 10 years working in the health care industry. But let’s take a closer look at her record.

  • She was hit from the left for working to undermine the ACA in 2012.
  • She bragged that she was going to work with Keith Ellison on health care, but offered no specifics.
  • After dodging the question for the better part of a year, she finally came out against her party’s litmus test, single-payer.
  • Keith Ellison threatened to run ads against her for not supporting single-payer.
  • A week later, the Star Tribune reported that she previously said she wanted to move towards single-payer.
  • And now…… *crickets*

Based on this, I have to assume that Kennedy asked his staffers for a list of Democrats with the most confusing, flip-flopping, opportunistic stances on health care, and decided to call them heroes.

What could possibly be heroic about refusing to give your voters a clear answer on where you stand on the issues?
