NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers: Kavanaugh Confirmation Energized Republican Voters

October 8, 2018

WASHINGTON – NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers today joined Fox News’ Dana Perino to highlight Republican enthusiasm in light of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation and the NRCC’s 418% fundraising spike.

NRCC CHAIRMAN STEVE STIVERS: Well Dana, what the Kavanaugh experience has done is gotten Republicans excited. Fox News reported over the weekend that the enthusiasm gap has actually closed by about eight points, so it’s almost even now on enthusiasm. And our fundraising—our online fundraising—has skyrocketed as a result.

DANA PERINO: We have some of those numbers: the average donation is up 149%, the total raised is up 418%. What’s the best way for you to spend that extra money that’s coming in at the end here?

STIVERS: Well let me say, if people do want to still help they can go to NRCC.org; we’d love to have their help. We will spend that on—there’s 29 days—we’ll spend it on television, we’ll spend it to make sure we get out Republican voters and do a get-out-the-vote effort. We’ll spend it both on the ground and on an air war.
