Golden tries to forget liberal record

April 11, 2019

As President Trump works to implement work requirements for SNAP benefits, Jared Golden is feigning interest in supporting the measure.

This seems like a good time for a reminder that Jared Golden has previously supported looser requirements for welfare recipients. In fact, while in the statehouse, Golden voted to allow welfare dollars to be spent on tobacco, liquor, gambling, tattoos and bail money for jail.

NRCC Comment: “Maine voters can see right through Jared Golden’s political posturing. When it comes to getting tough on waste, fraud and abuse in our welfare system, Jared Golden has taken a pass on protecting taxpayer dollars.” – NRCC Spokesman Michael McAdams
