Kim exploits loophole to escape campaign pledge

April 15, 2019

Andy Kim campaigned on not accepting corporate PAC money. But now that he’s in office, he’s doing whatever he can to get around his hollow promise.

The Intercept reported that Kim is exploiting a loophole to accept corporate cash despite his campaign trail promises. Kim accepted $5,000 from the American Hospital Association PAC, which “represents the agenda of the hospital industry, including Tenet Healthcare and HCA Corporation, two corporate mega-chains that constitute the largest donors to the AHA PAC.”

NRCC Comment: “Voters deserve better than Andy Kim and his empty campaign promises. Just over 100 days into his first term and Kim is showing voters he’s the type of DC swamp monster he promised to protect them from.” – NRCC Spokesman Michael McAdams
