Another broken promise from Slotkin

May 2, 2019

On the campaign trail, Elissa Slotkin promised to “to ensure our government is using its diplomatic and military power to advance U.S. interests in the world.”

With fourteen years of intelligence and defense experience, Slotkin understands the dangerous implications of allowing those who support murderous dictators a prominent role in crafting U.S. foreign policy.

Yet even after Ilhan Omar blamed the U.S. for the crisis in Venezuela and openly supports Nicolás Maduro whose troops run over protestors, shoot journalists and abuse children, Elissa Slotkin remains silent.

If Slotkin is serious about her promise to defend U.S. interests around the world, like democracy and freedom, she should call for Omar’s immediate removal from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
