Disgraced war profiteer papers over record

June 18, 2019

Disgraced war profiteer and failed candidate Kim Olson is out with a slick “walking down a street looking tough” campaign video, during which she makes a feeble attempt to explain away the criminal acts that got her kicked out of the military.

Olson says she, “did what I had to do to get the security team paid and save lives.” And that for doing so she was “reprimanded.”

But the military had a different way of describing it, saying Olson, “took advantage of her position for personal gain and made a mockery of U.S. efforts to establish the rule of law in a country long ruled by corrupt autocrats.”

What really happened? Olson entered into a plea bargain that included a forced retirement, a fine and a ban on receiving government contracts after being accused of personally profiting from the Iraq War by directing millions of dollars in contracts to a mercenary firm that she operated on the side.

NRCC Comment: “Disgraced war profiteer Kim Olson has a lot of nerve using her military service to run for office after being booted from the service for her criminal behavior. Olson owes an apology to every man and woman in uniform.” – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
