NRCC Weekly Rundown: Socialist Dems throw troops under the bus
And here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:
Congratulations to Dr. Greg Murphy on his primary victory in North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District!
(National) A new poll is out from the NRCC and it’s not looking good for the socialist Democrats who are pushing for the baseless impeachment of President Trump. Turns out impeachment is a big fat loser for folks running in competitive districts across the country, with 57% and 60% of voters rejecting impeachment efforts. House Democrats’ obsession with impeachment may appease their socialist base, but it’s wildly out of step with voters back home and will cost them dearly in 2020. Click HERE to read the polling memo.
(National) In their latest example of socialist extremism, House Democrats voted to jeopardize the safety of our troops. The socialist Democrats rejected consideration of the Senate’s bipartisan NDAA to instead support a House version that shortchanges the DoD by $15 billion. At least now voters can see these socialist Democrats for the rabid socialist extremists they really are.
(National) Democrats who promised to be moderates in Congress may be in trouble after a new report detailed how many of them have voted with socialist darling Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Click HERE to check out the list. Turns out the “moderate” Democrats have voted with AOC more than 91% of the time. So much for being independent voices…
(National) In case you missed it, Former Obama DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson put the socialist Democrats on blast last weekend for their radical calls to decriminalize illegal border crossings, calling it a “public declaration” of open borders. Johnson also emphasized the need for “straight talk” on immigration and ripped into the socialist Democrats’ insane immigration proposals claiming they’re a “disservice to our democracy…” Yikes. Click HERE to read Secretary Johnson’s op-ed.
(CA-15) Eric Swalwell dropped out of the socialist showdown (AKA the Democrats’ presidential primary) this week, putting an end to his delusional campaign. What will Swalwell do next? He told the San Francisco Chronicle he wouldn’t run for reelection, but he’s already broken that promise by signaling he’ll seek another term in the House. But Swalwell’s fight isn’t over – he only swapped one socialist showdown for another!
(CA-21) The Project on Government Oversight is slamming TJ Cox for his corruption. Why? Cox, who sits on the House Natural Resources Committee, says he cut business ties with a Canadian gold mine in February 2019, but Canada has no record of it until June 2019. Between February and June 2019, Cox was asked THREE separate times if he had cut ties with the Canadian gold mine – not once did he say he resigned from the company in February. According to Canadian law, once you resign from a board you must notify the government within 15 days. Otherwise, how will anyone know if you’re actually off the board? Corrupt Cox just keeps on lying!
(FL-26) This morning Homestead Pastor Russell Black went on national TV and completely refuted Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s accusation about conditions in the shelter. Pastor Black said it’s been “overwhelmingly surprising how good conditions are at Homestead,” and “as I see…politicians make comments and allegations about the shelter it blows me away.” This comes after local employees completely disagreed with Mucarsel-Powell’s claims in the press. Debbie might want to find a new place to grandstand… one suggested place would be in reality.
(GA-06) Looks like Lucy McBath has given up on being honest to Georgians considering she is now fundraising off of lying. What a way to double down! As a reminder here are all the things Lucy has lied to her constituents about:
(IL-14) Fake Nurse Lauren Underwood is heading back to California to fundraise off her socialist Hollywood donors… again. This isn’t the first, second, or even third time Fake Nurse Lauren will beg West Coast elitists to fund her Illinois campaign. It’s a shame Fake Nurse Lauren never showed the dedication or enthusiasm of actually treating one single patient that she shows when it comes to raising that socialist California cash.
(MN-03) Despite claiming to be one of the most transparent members of Congress, Minnesota millionaire Dean Phillips somehow failed to be transparent about his personal finances. Phillips claims his failure to file a mandatedfinancial disclosure form is due to the “complexity of his finances,” (AKA his $77 million net worth) but this is just more of the same from the elitist hypocrite who bought his way into Congress. Read more HERE.
(NJ-07) At a town hall last week, Tom Malinowski bragged about being the first member of Congress from a swing district to call for the baseless impeachment of President Trump. This comes as no surprise from Malinowski who has repeatedly undermined his constituents by showing allegiance to the socialist Democrats rather than focusing on issues voters actually care about. REMINDER: Malinowski is already trailing in the polls to a Republican candidate, and an overwhelming 59% of NJ-07 voters oppose impeachment.
(NY-19) Antonio Delgado is one step closer to calling for the baseless impeachment of President Trump. Although Delgado has been excited about the opportunity to impeach President Trump for years, he’s taken it a step further now calling on Congress to “aggressively investigate” President Trump’s conduct throughout Mueller’s Russia investigation. REMINDER: Delgado represents a district President Trump won by 7 points, and new polls show the socialist Democrats’ push for impeachment is becoming increasingly unpopular…
(NC-03) Just a quick reminder that Allen Thomas, the guy socialist Democrats want to represent NC-03 in Congress, is a crook. Click HERE to read all about Thomas’ long record of corruption and incompetence.
(NC-09) China Dan and his daddy sure aren’t going to flaunt the latest report on China Dan’s business practices. According to the Washington Examiner, China Dan previously sat on the board of a nonprofit organization “that lobbied for policies that benefited his solar energy business while allowing electric companies to raise consumer rates…” While China Dan was getting richer, he and his group cost North Carolinian families 30,000 jobs and an average of $3,479 in income. And while we’re on the subject of getting richer, does China Dan plan to support impeachment lunatic Tom Steyer’s quest to occupy the White House? After all, Steyer is a huge supporter of China Dan…
(OH-01) The race to left has officially started in OH-01!Another socialist, Kate Schroder, announced her run for Congress this week and has already admitted she’s all for the socialist fantasy: government-run socialized health care. Schroder’s announcement comes right after socialist loser Nikki Foster threw her hat in the ring.
(PA-10) In his campaign’s slick new launch video, Harrisburg politician and political insider Eugene DePasquale promised to take on political insiders if elected to Congress. There’s only one problem – Eugene isa political insider. Just take a quick look at his resume:
- Harrisburg politician for over a decade
- Legislative Director to career politician Allyson Schwartz
- Boss of York County Democratic Party
- 2016 delegate to the disastrous Democratic National Convention
If Eugene wants to take on political insiders and wealthy special interests, he should start with Harrisburg politicians like himself!
(UT-04) Ben McAdams’ campaign seems confused. His campaign manager told Utah Policy that Ben McAdams is “on the record not supporting impeachment,” after the NRCC pressed him to take a position. One problem: Ben McAdams hasn’t said anything on the record opposing impeachment. Even the New York Times pointed out that McAdams hasn’t taken a position.
(Virginia) Now that Democrats are busy calling each other racists, don’t forget that blackface-wearing Governor Ralph Northam is *still* governor of Virginia. And AG Mark Herring, who also wore blackface, is still in office. And LG Justin Fairfax is loving the attention he’s getting from being an alleged serial rapist. And Elaine Luria and Abigail Spanberger believe Fairfax is a serial rapist but still won’t return his donations. And VA Democrats nominated ex-con and sexual predator Joe Morrissey for State Senate.
(WA-03) Socialist loser Carolyn Long is taking another stab at running for Congress. Long told The Columbian she plans on winning WA-03 this time around by… running the same exact campaign she did in 2018. That should go swimmingly for Long, seeing as her 2018 campaign included:
- Her losing
- Her staunch and well-documented support of government-run, socialized health care that would strip thousands of Washingtonians off their private insurance plans and significantly increase wait times for worse care.
Good luck, Carolyn!
(WI-03) President Trump was in Wisconsin today pushing Congressman Ron Kind to help pass the USMCA trade
deal, which America’s Dairyland desperately needs and the socialist Democrats have stalled. Each day Kind stalls the new trade agreement,
THREE dairies close in Wisconsin. Kind’s hatred of President Trump must be more important than doing what is right
western Wisconsin families.

Rep. Dean Phillips late in filing disclosure; PAC pledges cash to DFL women;
Walz’s team heads abroad
U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips is the only House member from Minnesota who has not
filed a mandated financial disclosure form.
The yearly forms “include information about the source, type, amount, or value
of income of Members,” according to the House Clerk’s Office.
The other seven House members from Minnesota have all filed theirs. They can be
found online, on the House Clerk website.
Phillips, a Democrat, is an heir to a Minnesota liquor fortune who has launched
several other successful businesses. A spokeswoman said he filed for an
extension in April and that filling out his form takes longer “given the
complexity of Dean’s finances.” READ.
Hypocritical Debbie Mucarsel-Powell on Migrant Kids: All Talk, No Action
It’s hard to fathom Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. The Democratic congresswoman from
South Florida spent the last month bleating about “prison-like
conditions” in the overcrowded Homestead Temporary Shelter for Juveniles.
Yet, when she gets a chance to have a positive impact on the facility, what
does she do? She votes AGAINST the Senate bill that would grant $4.6 billion in
emergency aid to address the humanitarian crisis at the southern border.
The Ecuadorian-born freshman criticized the Trump administration’s immigration
policy, claiming its positions are “cruel,” and immigration reform “should be a
top issue in this presidential election. …
“Every 2020 presidential candidate ought to visit the Homestead Detention
Center and join us in denouncing Trump’s cruel immigration policies. …”
Mucarsel said. READ.
GOP touts swing-districts poll showing opposition to Trump impeachment
When Orange County Rep. Katie Porter called last month for impeaching President
Trump, she probably knew it wasn’t going to be a popular stance in a district
that still leans Republican.
But a new GOP poll shows just how disliked that plan is for voters in the
Irvine-area district, which already is a top target for Republicans in 2020.
Porter’s district was one of five Democratic-held seats surveyed for the
National Republican Congressional Committee, which is looking to take back the
House after losing it to the Democrats last fall. Each poll included 400 likely
voters.
Three of those targeted districts are in California. Along with Porter, voters
in the districts of Reps. Gil Cisneros of Yorba Linda (Orange County) and TJ
Cox of Fresno also were asked about their positions on impeachment.
For impeachment-favoring Democrats, the results weren’t pretty. READ.
Calif. Dem Who Flipped GOP Seat in ’18 Trails in New Poll
California Democrats completed their sweep of GOP-held congressional seats in
the once conservative stronghold of Orange County last fall when self-funding
lottery winner Gil Cisneros squeaked out a victory. His race against
businesswoman Young Kim was considered one of the closest and craziest of the
cycle.
The same congressional district, a Southern California crossroads that is the
birthplace of Richard Nixon and home to his presidential library, could prove
the Republicans’ best chance of pushing back again that blue tide in 2020, new
GOP polling suggests.
Cisneros is trailing a Republican challenger, 46%-44% (with 9% undecided),
according to a new survey conducted on behalf of the National Republican
Congressional Committee and released to RealClearPolitics. READ.
National Republicans launch ad hitting McAdams on impeachment issue
The National Republican Campaign Committee is launching a social media ad
targeting Rep. Ben McAdams, urging the freshman Democrat to oppose impeaching
President Donald Trump.
The NRCC, the campaign arm for House Republicans, is dropping $1,000 initially
on the campaign. The ad, shared first with UtahPolicy.com, will begin running
on Facebook Thursday.
So far, 81 House members have come out in favor of opening an impeachment
inquiry against President Trump. McAdams has not taken an official position on
whether or not he would support an impeachment inquiry. Democrats in Congress
have called for an impeachment inquiry against Trump after special counsel
Robert Mueller said he could not clear the president of obstruction of justice.
The ad from the NRCC is not subtle, painting McAdams’ Democratic colleagues in
Congress as socialists. READ.
NRCC Poll: Axne Trails GOP Opponent by 6
Rep. Cindy Axne (D) trails a named Republican candidate by 6 points in a new
poll (June 30-July 3; 400 LVs) from the NRCC. The committee did not name the
candidate, but former Rep. David Young (R) is running again after losing to
Axne last year.
Some interesting cross-tabs: Axne trails by 8 points among independents and the
challenger is pulling 21 percent of Democrats. Her image is underwater at
37/39, and voters in her Des Moines-based district prefer a candidate who
supports “the Trump agenda” over “the Pelosi agenda” by 8 points, 48-40
percent. READ.
