NRCC Weekly Rundown: The socialist Democrats are DERANGED!
And here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:
(National)
The
socialist Democrats’ deranged hatred of President Trump reached a new
pathetic level this week with their vote to circumvent House rules and allow
Nancy Pelosi to call President Trump racist. The rules of the
House – which date back to 1801 – were extremely clear, as one reporter noted, but the Democrats’ hatred of
President Trump allowed them to spit all over Thomas Jefferson’s manual.
Next time one of these “moderate” Dems try to talk up their bipartisanship,
just remember they literally voted to call Trump a racist.
(National) According to
Democrats’ own polling, socialism
remains incredibly toxic among voters they desperately need
to hang on to their fractured majority. New polling shows socialism was only
viewed favorably by 18% of key swing voters, and unfavorably by an
overwhelming 69%. Yikes! Speaking of socialism, make sure to check out
the NRCC’s new Socialist Showdown website
highlighting the socialist Democrats’ civil war and the DCCC’s efforts
to blacklist progressive challengers.
(National)
House
Democrats’ resident anti-Semite Ilhan Omar came out this week and said she has no regrets for her repeated anti-Semitic
slurs. She also announced she’s introducing an anti-Israel resolution promoting the
BDS movement. Will the socialist Democrats condemn Omar’s behavior?
Probably not considering she still sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee…
(AZ-02)
Ann Kirkpatrick told a voter in 2018 she
“would vote for an impeachment resolution absolutely. And I think I probably
will get a chance to do that.” This week Ann kept her promise, and voted to
baselessly impeach President Trump. Talk about being totally blinded by hate…
(CA-21) Crooked
California Rep. T.J. Cox spent $21k on legal fees this
fundraising quarter. Are those expenses related to his ethics issues? Or maybe his tax liens? Maybe that ice rink he can’t sell? Or all those businesses he’s still
involved with? That’s a lot of cash! TJ also celebrated his birthday this week, but
unfortunately the party had to be canceled. Why? Because TJ mismanaged and was evicted from the ice
rink!
(CA-39) Gil Cisneros
hasn’t even bothered trying to keep his “no PAC money” pledge. Cisneros’ Q2 FEC
report shows he accepted $151,309 in PAC money, now raising his
total PAC contributions to $256,859
since taking office. PAC money accounts for 45% of what Cisneros has
raised this cycle – no wonder POLITICO has called him out for cozying up
to corporate lobbyists and breaking his PAC purity pledge.
(CA-45) Speaking of FEC
reports, Katie Porter’s filing revealed she’s been accepting money from
rabid anti-Semite Ilhan Omar.
Omar’s disgusting, bigoted rhetoric has appalled Americans to the point
that her favorability is in the single digits, but Porter obviously
doesn’t care. Porter remains in the 9% of people who believe taking $2,000 from a known anti-Semite is perfectly
acceptable!
(CO-06) Last weekend Jason
Crow’s office participated in a protest at
the Aurora ICE detention facility. There, the crowd recklessly tore down the American
flag flying over the facility, replacing it with a Mexican flag, and vandalized a flag honoring
law enforcement officers. You’d think Crow’s office would swiftly condemn
these disgusting acts, but you’d be wrong. Crow has yet to comment on
the utter disrespect shown to our country and law enforcement that occurred on
his watch. Shame on you, Jason Crow.
(GA-06)
Lyin’ Lucy McBath (D-TN) is having a tough time raising
money from Georgians with 70% of her Q2 donations coming from
outside the state. Perhaps if Lucy didn’t lie to Georgians about her residency, her stance on
the 2ndAmendment, her wealth, $15 minimum wage, and PAC money they’d be
more keen to support her? Lucy did however accept money from infamous antiwar
activist “Hanoi” Jane Fonda and Alyssa Milano, who recently
compared VP Pence to Holocaust architect Heinrich Himmler.
(IA-03) With Cindy
Axne trailing in the polls, it’s clear she’s desperate for
every dollar she can get for her reelection campaign. Axne is not being
picky about where the money comes from considering she accepted a $2,000 donation from Ilhan Omar.
Like Katie Porter, I guess Axne has no shame taking money from the
socialist Democrats’ biggest bigot even after her numerous attacks targeting Jewish-Americans. Axne has
also been silent on her party’s plan to legalize illegal immigration, and has
consistently supported socialist policies like amnesty for illegal immigrants
with ties to a gang. Someone should
ask Axne where she stands seeing as ICE has now confirmed the murder suspect in the brutal
murder of a Des Moines mother and her two children was a twice-deported illegal
immigrant…
(MN-07) Cranky Collin
Peterson had an embarrassing fundraising
quarter, taking in a mere $160,380 – 3x less than
what he sold his DC condo for in preparation for retirement. Even more
embarrassing: it took five months before a
Minnesotan caved and donated to cranky Collin’s campaign. If you didn’t
think it could get any worse, Cranky Collin is still funneling money out of his war
chest to pay his adult son’s salary in Tennessee, and only a
quarter of his campaign donations came from actual Minnesotans…
(NE-02) After Q1’s
fundraising disaster you’d think NE-02 socialists Kara Eastman and Ann
Ashford would get their acts together, but you’d be wrong! Comrade Kara raised a paltry $103,090 for a
total of $142,632 in the first half of the year. And somehow, the DCCC’s pick,
Ann Ashford managed to do even worse, raising just
$60,024 (including a $10,000 loan from the candidate). In comparison, Rep. Don
Bacon raised $422,355 in the second
quarter for a total of $796,263 for the year. This race is looking like it will
be over before it even begins.
(NY-11)
Max Rose is a big bully. Earlier this month, Rose bullied
a young employee for being “dressed like a total goon,” saying he needed
to “get a life,” and “needs a girlfriend or something.” Does Max consider
his demeaning comments about a kid’s wardrobe, social life and not having a
girlfriend to be bullying? We’re only asking because he recently
introduced anti-bullying legislation. Watch the
comments from the U.S. Congressman HERE.
(NC-09)
China Dan’s Daddy doesn’t only threaten the free press when they
are being mean to his baby boy, he also helps fund China Dan’s campaign.
According to FEC reports, daddy McCready and his
employees have donated nearly $150K to China Dan since
2017. No wonder they were so upset China Dan’s shady business practices were
exposed! China Dan’s wife also became richer from tax loopholes while he
was campaigning against them, and he’s still accepting help from dark
money groups, which – you guessed it – he also decried on the campaign trail!
One thing’s clear: the only person China Dan looks out for is himself.
(OK-05) Like Gil
Cisneros, accidental Congresswoman Kendra Horn broke her “no corporate PAC money”
pledge. She even ran an ad on the issue! Turns out, in Q2, Horn accepted nearly $100,000
from PACs as diverse as the American Crystal Sugar Company PAC, the National
Cannabis Industry Association and the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers Association.
If taking money from PACs was so offensive in 2018, what changed, Kendra???
(OR-04)
Peter DeFazio was the ONLY member of the House of Representatives to vote “present” on the vote
to impeach President Trump this week, avoiding taking a stand on the
issue. DeFazio’s vote was odd considering he sent an email to his
campaign list last week supporting impeachment, and he’s made statements previously supporting
impeachment. If DeFazio can’t handle taking heat on a position,
maybe it’s time to retire.
(SC-01) In a recent Facebook post, Joe
Cunningham called for a cap on Americans’ salaries saying: “On
top of raising the minimum wage, I believe we should focus on making sure
folks make a MAXIMUM wage.“ Considering Joe votes with socialist AOC over
85% of the time, it comes as no surprise that Joe wants to limit how
much South Carolinians can make.
(TX-21) The worst kept
secret in America, that Wendy Davis is running for Congress (LOL), was
once again confirmed without an announcement from the candidate. The Texas
Tribune reports that Davis
will hold a fundraiser for her still unannounced campaign with a host of DC
socialists, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Holocaust minimizer Jim
Clyburn, and socialist Democrat Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries. This
is the third time Davis has accidentally announced her campaign after
spilling the beans on a podcast in April
and again at a boozy gala last month.
Looks like this campaign is going about as well as her last one when she got
smoked by 20 points in the 21st District in her race against Governor
Abbott!
(TX-23) Looks like DC
native Gina Jones’ campaign cash is only slightly
more Texan than the candidate herself, with more than 77% of Jones’ Q2
donations coming from outside Texas. Jones’ lack of support from Texans
shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. After all, Jones is a Washington, DC resident, owning a condo
in the city’s luxurious Southwest Waterfront neighborhood, and hadn’t lived in
Texas for more than a decade before deciding to run for office.

1 big
thing … Exclusive poll: AOC defining Dems in swing states
Top
Democrats are circulating a poll showing that one of the House’s most
progressive members — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — has become a definitional
face for the party with a crucial group of swing voters.
- Why it matters: These Democrats are sounding the alarm that swing voters know and dislike socialism, warning it could cost them the House and the presidency. The poll is making the rounds of some of the most influential Democrats in America.
- “If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk,” said a top Democrat who is involved in 2020 congressional races. “[S]he’s getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races.”
The
findings:
- Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view.
- Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view.
Socialism was
viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%.
- Capitalism was 56% favorable; 32% unfavorable.
- “Socialism is toxic to these voters,” said the top Democrat. READ.
The
Cybersecurity 202: House Republican campaign arm to offer candidates free
cybersecurity help
House
Republicans’ campaign arm is set to offer hands-on cybersecurity assistance to
GOP candidates to help protect them against foreign hacking operations,
National Republican Congressional Committee officials exclusively told The
Cybersecurity 202.
The plan,
which will be announced today, will include flying out the NRCC’s technology
team to candidates’ districts to train their staff to spot suspicious emails
and websites, ensure all their software is patched against bugs and set them up
with a suite of free anti-hacking tools, NRCC officials told me.
The
committee will also buy campaigns subscriptions for a cybersecurity company
that will monitor and respond to suspicious activity on their computer networks,
they said. The NRCC declined to name the company but a person familiar with the
plan told me it was CrowdStrike, which helped the NRCC respond to a breach of
its computer networks in 2018.
The NRCC
program, which will be announced at a regular weekly meeting of the House
Republican Conference, shows how hacking concerns are motivating candidates up
and down the ballot as they gear up for the second election cycle since a
Russian hacking and disinformation operation upended the 2016 presidential contest.
“We take
threats seriously and want to ensure that all Republicans running for Congress can say the same,” NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer (Minn.) told me in a statement. READ.
House GOP Campaign Chief Puts the Kibosh on a Hacked Material Truce
During the 2018 election, the House campaign arms of Democrats and Republicans came close to an agreement that neither side would use hacked materials for political purposes.
Those talks ultimately fell apart. And if there were any inkling that the committees had a chance for some sort of truce in the 2020 election, Rep. Tom Emmer—the Minnesota Republican who chairs the National Republican Campaign Committee—effectively put the kibosh on that idea Thursday.
Speaking to a group of reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast, Emmer balked at a question about coming to an agreement with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee regarding the use of hacked materials this cycle.
“The DCCC is not serious about any of this stuff,” said Emmer in response to a question from The Daily Beast. “It’s all political hackery… Look at what they’ve been putting out. Look at what the responses have been.” READ.
Trump vs. Dems: ‘Racist,’ ‘socialist’ lines drawn for 2020
WASHINGTON (AP) — With tweets and a vote, President Donald Trump and House Democrats established the sharp and emotionally raw contours of the 2020 election campaigns.
In the process, they have created a fraught political frame: “racists” vs. “socialists.”
Trump’s aggressive condemnation of women of color in Congress has allowed House Democrats to mend, for now, their own political divisions as they put the president on record with a resolution condemning his words as racist.
…
Republican operatives swiftly dispatched their own attacks on nearly 30 of the House Democratic freshmen who helped take the majority in 2018 by winning seats from areas that Trump also won in 2016. They are seen as the front liners needed to retain control of the House, and many face tough re-election races in 2020.
“Deranged,” read the missives from the National Republican Congressional Committee. The committee is raising money off Ocasio-Cortez as the face of the “socialist” agenda and drawing links to the party’s presidential contenders, including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and other liberal front-runners.
“This wasn’t what people in the Trump districts elected them to do,” said Bob Salera, a spokesman for the GOP’s campaign committee. READ.
House candidate campaigns against tax loopholes as wife collects $50K in credits
Democratic House candidate Dan McCready’s spouse has claimed over $50,000 in tax credits since 2016 under a controversial North Carolina business incentive program, according to state records, even as her husband runs in opposition to tax loopholes.
McCready, who is running against Republican Dan Bishop and has also been in talks with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer about a potential 2020 Senate bid, has criticized loopholes that allow companies and wealthy individuals to lower their tax rate, arguing that the overwhelming amount of tax credits benefit the upper class. “I don’t think that it’s right, right now, that a billionaire like Warren Buffet is paying a lower tax rate than a teacher,” he said during a campaign event in April.
McCready’s wife, Laura T. McCready, claimed $19,745 in business tax credits in 2016 and $33,232 in 2018, according to North Carolina records. The credits were available under a North Carolina program for renewable energy investors and covered up to 35% of the tax liabilities for renewable energy projects. READ.
House Republican campaign chair says there’s no place for ‘send her back’ language
The chairman of House Republicans’ campaign arm on Thursday criticized the “send her back” chant that animated the crowd at Donald Trump’s Wednesday night rally and added a new dimension to the president’s attacks on four Democratic freshman women.
“I didn’t watch the rally last night, but there’s no place for that kind of talk,” said Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), who chairs the National Republican Congressional Committee and hails from the same state as the Democrat who was primarily targeted, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). “I don’t agree with it.”
Emmer, speaking at a breakfast with journalists hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, was pressed later whether the chant was racist. He declined to address that question, instead saying it was “not acceptable.”
Emmer also stopped short of directly criticizing Trump for his comments about Omar and three other Democratic lawmakers, all of whom are women of color, calling the controversy “manufactured.” READ.
REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIR SAYS NANCY PELOSI LEADS HOUSE IN NAME ONLY; PROGRESSIVE ‘SQUAD’ HAS BECOME ‘SPEAKER’
Tom Emmer, chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, claimed that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was leading the House of Representatives in name only and that the freshman “Squad” of progressive lawmakers were actually the “Speaker, in fact.”
Talking to reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast Thursday, Emmer said that the “Squad” of progressive House Democrats — Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib — is going to play a starring role in Congress during the 2020 election.
“You should call them the ‘Leadership Squad’ since they are the Speaker, in fact,” Emmer said. “The rest of their conference should be called the new red army of socialists.” READ.
NRCC Chair to Newsmax: GOP Seeing Surge in Female Candidates
As Democrats are making the case nationwide that the Republican agenda is discouraging women from running for Congress on its party label, National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Tom Emmer of Minnesota told Newsmax quite the opposite on Thursday morning.
“We’ve got women jumping into races all over the country — Iowa, Georgia, all over the country,” said Emmer. “I think that reflects 40% of the total recruits” to run for the House in 2020.
Now in his third term and in charge of the GOP effort to upend the 235-200 seat advantage the Democrats hold in the House, Emmer made his case at a press breakfast in Washington, D.C. hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.
“How are you going to recruit women to run as Republicans?” Emmer asked. “This rabid, radical socialist agenda [pushed by the four congresswomen denounced by Trump last week] is doing it for us. READ.
