About that DCCC recruit in Nebraska…

July 25, 2019

A quick look at the background of Gladys Harrison, the DCCC’s Plan C recruit in NE-02, shows that the Democrats may want to move on to Plan D.

A quick review of court documents reveals several run-ins with the law for Harrison. In 2005, a warrant was issued for Harrison’s arrest for failing to appear in court. And Harrison also appears to have pleaded guilty to theft by shoplifting, for which she received a sentence of 6 months of probation. The kicker on that one? The prosecutor in the case was fellow candidate Ann Ashford’s late brother in law, William Mark Ashford.

NRCC Comment: “Congratulations to the DCCC for angering their base by recruiting a novice candidate with a criminal record to defeat Comrade Kara Eastman and Ann Ashford. DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos’ recruitment operation is doing a great job of taking the 2nd District off the map well ahead of the 2020 election. – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
