ICYMI: Luria plays party politics
Constituents are sick of Elaine Luria’s partisan games as she continues to obstruct President Trump and vote in lock step with the socialist Democrats.
It appears like there is a growing frustration with Luria in VA-02. Just last week, constituents blasted Elaine for hiding her position on baseless impeachment.
In case you missed it…

Re “Border wall saps $77 million from military construction projects in Hampton Roads” (front page, Sept. 5): Our Democratic representatives in Washington, D.C., are screaming foul over budget decisions being made to build the border wall. Money isn’t being diverted from critical military operations. It’s being diverted from construction projects.
President Donald Trump has been exceptionally supportive of our military and has fought hard to make sure our military has the funding needed to grow and protect our country. He now needs to secure our borders.
Trump didn’t fail Hampton Roads. Our elected officials did. Maybe U.S. Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine and U.S. Reps. Elaine Luria and Bobby Scott should have tried to work with Trump to provide funding for the wall instead of engaging in obstructionist party politics. Trump said he was committed to protecting our borders. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said not one dollar would be included in the budget for the wall, and the Democrats lined up lock step behind her. There were no negotiations or compromise.
Maybe our representatives need to go back to Washington with an open mind and a willingness to compromise. It is sadly obvious that party politics is getting in the way of good governance.
