California Globe: Assemblywoman Christy Smith Campaigning Instead of Holding Hearing on Coronavirus Crisis

In case you missed it, Christy Smith, chair of California’s Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management, postponed and never rescheduled the committee’s March 4th hearing

Smith, as chair, could have easily called for a hearing on the coronavirus pandemic but never did. At the time the March 4th meeting was postponed, five California counties and one city (including LA County which Smith represents) had declared states of emergency to combat coronavirus.

What wasn’t postponed or rescheduled was Christy Smith’s election night party the night before on March 3rd.

I guess partying the night away was more important to Christy than emergency management of the coronavirus pandemic!
