McCarthy Announces Seven “Young Guns” in Final Phase of Young Guns Program

April 14, 2020

WASHINGTON – House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy today announced the first round of “Young Guns” candidates who have been elevated to the highest level of the Young Guns program. The program mentors and supports candidates in races across the country and works to provide them with the necessary tools to run successful, winning campaigns against their Democrat opponents.

“These candidates are running extraordinarily competitive, top-of-the-line campaign operations,” said House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy. “Their hard work has put the majority well within our reach, and I look forward to welcoming each one of them to Congress come fall.”

The NRCC’s Young Guns program requires candidates to work towards specific goals and meet benchmarks throughout the election cycle to ensure their campaigns remain competitive, well-funded and communicative within their districts. Candidates progress through three levels of the program: On the Radar, Contender and Young Gun.
