SUBJECT: NE-02 PRIMARY RESULTS

Once again, despite the DCCC’s best efforts, Democrats are left with Comrade Kara Eastman as their nominee. The DCCC’s failure to stop Eastman from securing the nomination means they are left with a candidate far outside the mainstream of this conservative-leaning swing district. Comrade Kara’s embrace of Democrats’ socialist agenda, from the job-killing Green New Deal to banning employer-provided health insurance with her socialized health care plan, will once again render her unelectable in November.

Comrade Kara enters the general election at a severe financial disadvantage, reporting just $98,816 in cash on hand compared to Rep. Don Bacon’s $764,883. Bacon has proven himself a strong, effective campaigner who knows how to win close races and this year will be no different.

PVI: R+4

2016 Presidential Results: Trump 47.2% – Clinton 44.9%

Ratings: Cook Political Report – Lean Republican; Inside Elections – Lean Republican

Geography: The district encompasses all of Douglas County, including the City of Omaha, as well as part of Sarpy County. It is entirely within the Omaha DMA.
