Another Democrat for Bacon

June 4, 2020

Former U.S. Senator and Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Lieberman joined the growing chorus of Democrats rejecting Comrade Kara Eastman.

Lieberman is the latest high profile Democrat to endorse Bacon, joining former Rep. Jim Moran, 2018 Democrat Governor nominee Senator Bob Krist and a former Executive Director of the Nebraska Democratic Party.

Lieberman’s endorsement also comes just days after Eastman was publicly rebuked by the Democrat Douglas County Attorney for recklessly spreading false information on a case his office was handling.

Congressman Don Bacon gets another endorsement from a former U.S. Senator.

In a news release, former Vice Presidential nominee Joe Lieberman said he supports Bacon’s re-election campaign.

Lieberman was first elected to public office in 1971.

He then served in the U.S. Senate from 1989 to 2013.

During his time in Congress he ran for the Democratic party and then later as an Independent candidate.

Lieberman also made a run at the White House losing the 2000 election with running mate Al Gore.

Lieberman said, “During my time in public service, it became clear to me who the real leaders were. They worked across the aisle and made progress toward a goal. Don Bacon is one of those leaders.”

Bacon responded by saying, “I’m proud to seek consensus across the aisle while not compromising my principles and the promises I made to the people of this district. This is how we get results, and I’m excited to welcome another Democrat to Team Bacon.”

Lieberman joins a growing list of people who have already endorsed Bacon.

That list includes former Rep. Jim Moran and former state senator and Nebraska Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Bob Krist.

Representative Bacon faces Kara Eastman in the November election.
