SC-01 Nancy Mace (R) vs. Joe Cunningham (D)

Joe Cunningham claimed he would put the Lowcountry over politics but that has turned out to be just a catchy campaign slogan. Cunningham has voted with Nancy Pelosi’s extreme socialist agenda over 85% of the time, including supporting his party’s scheme to impeach the President. Cunningham’s record is wildly out of step with this Republican district that President Trump won by 14.

Nancy Mace’s unique bio and established record of conservative leadership make her a formidable candidate in the general election. She will be boosted by having President Trump at the top of the ticket and a united base of supporters behind her.

PVI: R+10

2016 Presidential Results: Trump 53.5% – Clinton 40.4%

Ratings: Cook Political Report – Toss up; Inside Elections – Toss up

Geography: The district stretches from Hilton Head to mid-coast South Carolina and includes parts of Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and Beaufort counties. The DMA is split 76.9% Charleston and 23.1% Savannah.
