Christy Smith’s silence puts community at risk

Jails are closing, LAPD and LA County Sheriffs are facing major budget cuts – including school police forces – and Christy Smith still hasn’t said a word. 

The latest is the closing of Men’s Central Jail which houses high-security inmates. The LA County Sheriff believes the closure of the jail will lead to overcrowding in other jails, and that other county facilities cannot house the “most violent, the most dangerous people” currently kept in Men’s Central Jail.
