Tom O’Halleran: “Nobody is considering defunding the police”

“Nobody is considering defunding the police.” That’s a direct quote from Tom O’Halleran during a Q&A with the Navajo Hopi Observer earlier this week.
Is Tom O’Halleran really that out-of-touch with what’s going on in the world? Or is he just lying?
O’Halleran’s colleagues have made it very clear they intend to defund the police.
- O’Halleran’s colleague Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (who O’Halleran votes with 93 percent of the time) has said on numerous occasions that “defunding the police means defunding the police.”
- O’Halleran’s colleague Ilhan Omar called for the Minneapolis Police Department to be dismantled.
- And there have been numerous demonstrations in Flagstaff – part of O’Halleran’s district — calling to defund the police.
Why isn’t O’Halleran taking this seriously?
