Davis and Imam won’t comment on defund the police

August 4, 2020

With the Austin City Council proposing major budget cuts to the city’s police department, the deranged “Defund the police” movement has made its way to Texas.

But in a Statesman story, Wendy Davis and Donna Imam wouldn’t address the proposed cuts. Davis’ spokeswoman said she had no comment on “the question of what she thought of proposed cuts to the Austin Police Department.” And Imam didn’t even address the question, instead attacking Rep. Carter for speaking out against the City Council’s move.

So where do Davis and Imam actually stand on defunding the police? Don’t voters deserve to know whether congressional candidates side with the radical mob?
