SUBJECT: MICHIGAN PRIMARY RESULTS
Michigan is a battleground state with prime pickup opportunities for Republicans. Incumbent Democrats campaigned as moderates but have gone to Washington to be a rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi’s radical agenda, leaving Michiganders behind.
Michigan’s Third Congressional District is an R+6 district that for too long has gone without a real representative in Congress who will get things done for them. Republican candidate Peter Meijer is well-poised to ensure Republicans keep this seat red in November and be a real representative for this conservative district.
Fred Upton is a battle-tested incumbent whose opponent is far too liberal for this conservative district. Jon Hoadley has openly embraced Democrats’ socialist agenda, even voting to defund the polices just months ago.
MI-03: Peter Meijer (R) vs. Hillary Scholten (D)
Michigan’s Third Congressional District remains a solidly conservative district. Voters in MI-03 are desperate for a real representative who will deliver results for them in Congress, which is what they will get with Republican candidate Peter Meijer. Meijer is a true public servant who served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in Iraq and then went on to help different humanitarian efforts around the world before returning home to West Michigan to continue his service, this time getting things done for Michiganders in Congress.
Democrat Hillary Scholten is a far-left radical Democrat. Scholten’s support for socialist policies like “Medicare for All” and bail reform, a dangerous policy that results in criminals being free to roam the streets, as well as her endorsement from notable Massachusetts socialist Elizabeth Warren make her completely unelectable in this conservative district.
PVI: R+6 2016
Presidential Results: Trump 51.6% – Clinton 42.1%
Ratings: Cook Political Report – Lean Republican; Inside Elections – Lean Republican
Geography: The district is located in the western region of the lower peninsula of Michigan and includes the city of Grand Rapids. It includes Ionia, Barry, and Calhoun counties and portions of Kent and Montcalm counties The DMA is 100% Grand Rapids.
MI-06: Fred Upton (R) vs. Jon Hoadley (D)
Fred Upton is hardworking leader who listens to all perspectives, supports Midwestern values and achieves results for Southwest Michigan. Fred knows how to get things done in Washington and remains focused on encouraging economic growth, protecting American families and local initiatives, strengthening Medicare now and for the future, combating drug abuse, banning pollutants that harm our Great Lakes, and creating good paying jobs for folks right here in Southwest Michigan.
That stands in stark contrast to Jon Hoadley, an open socialist who would be the fifth member of the Socialist Squad in Congress. Hoadley supported Gretchen Whitmer’s triple gas tax increase, has racked up socialist endorsement after socialist endorsement, including radical socialist Rashida Tlaib, and voted to defund the police. This coupled with of recent reports in which Hoadley kept an online blog writing about 4-year olds wearing thongs and experimenting with crystal meth, shows Hoadley is completely unfit to represent Southwest Michigan in Congress.
PVI: R+4 2016
Presidential Results: Trump 51.2% – Clinton 42.8%
Ratings: Cook Political Report – Lean Republican; Inside Elections – Likely Republican
Geography: Michigan’s Sixth District is located in the southwestern region of the lower peninsula of Michigan and includes the city of Kalamazoo. It includes Van Buren, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Cass, and Berrien counties and a part of Allegan County. The DMA is 70% Grand Rapids, 30% South Bend.
MI-08: Paul Junge (R) vs. Elissa Slotkin (D)
Elissa Slotkin campaigned in 2018 as a moderate in this R+4 district, but as soon as she got to Congress she immediately fell in lockstep with her party, voting with Nancy Pelosi 97 percent of the time. Slotkin has broken campaign promise after campaign promise, from her phony ‘no corporate PAC’ money pledge to backing the Democrats’ partisan impeachment sham. Voters will reject Slotkin in November for lying to them on campaign trail.
Paul Junge is a true conservative who would be a much better fit for this district. As a former Trump Administration official, June worked to stop illegal immigration, secure our borders and keep Americans safe. Junge stands in stark contrast to Slotkin who, true to her word, has put “party before country, always, always.”
PVI: R+4 2016
Presidential Results: Trump 50.3% – Clinton 42.8%
Ratings: Cook Political Report – Lean Democrat; Inside Elections – Likely Democrat
Geography: Michigan’s Eighth Congressional District is located in the mid region of the lower peninsula of Michigan. It includes Livingston and Ingham counties and sections of Oakland County. The DMA is 63% Detroit, 37% Lansing.
MI-11: Eric Esshaki (R) vs. Haley Stevens (D)
Haley Stevens promised voters she would work with both sides of the aisle to get things done, but instead Stevens’ first term has been colored by her unhinged rants on the House floor and at her constituents, threatening their Second Amendment rights. Stevens’ first vote in Congress was a broken campaign promise: Despite telling voters on the campaign trail she would not vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House, she voted for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House. Since then, Stevens votes with Pelosi a staggering 98 percent of the time. Michiganders cannot trust Haley Sevens to put them first.
In stark contrast to Stevens, Eric Esshaki is a first generation American and former nurse whose conservative principles make him a much better fit for this R+4 district. Esshaki is a constitutional conservative who is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment and anti-tax.
