Who will Pelosi force to walk the plank?

January 2, 2021

Following a lackluster 2020 election, Democrats have their slimmest majority in decades, which is bad news for the vulnerable Democrats hoping to oppose Nancy Pelosi again. Here’s a list of the ‘anti-Pelosi’ Democrats who will be forced to betray their constituents, go back on their word and support America’s most unpopular politician!

Who’s going to walk the plank?

Conor Lamb opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “I’ve already said on the front page of the newspaper that I don’t support Nancy Pelosi.”

Jason Crow opposed Pelosi in 2018 because he stood by his “pledge to the sixth district” to support a “new generation of leadership in our country.”

Jared Golden opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “I’ve been very clear: I’m not going to support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. I’ve said it again and again. I don’t support her agenda.”

Ron Kind opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “we’re in desperate need of new leadership on both sides.”

Kathleen Rice opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “we need a winning strategy and I think the first step to getting to a winning strategy is a change in leadership.”

Kurt Schrader opposed Pelosi in 2018 because supporting her would mean “we just signed Democrats death certificate for next eight years.”

Mikie Sherrill opposed Pelosi in 2018 because she “made a commitment to the residents of NJ-11 that I would seek new leaders in Congress.”

Elissa Slotkin opposed Pelosi in 2018 because she promised not to vote for her and “felt it was important to stick to her integrity for her very first vote.”

Abigail Spanberger opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “under no circumstances, would I vote for Nancy Pelosi to again be Speaker of the House.”

Jim Cooper opposed Pelosi in 2018 because it was “consistent with my eight year push for new Democratic leadership.”
