Bustos, Underwood, and Casten want public funds for their campaigns

March 1, 2021

Cheri Bustos, Lauren Underwood, and Sean Casten know they’re in for tough reelection fights in 2022, so they’re cosponsoring legislation to make that feat easier for themselves.

This week, House Democrats are voting on HR 1, a corrupt attempt to funnel $5 million to Democrats’ reelection campaigns and give Democrats control of our elections and redistricting.

It’s clear that these Democrats are fixated on their next political campaigns instead of helping Illinoisians during a pandemic.

NRCC Comment: “This corrupt bill is a brazen attempt to shovel public money into D.C. liberals’ campaign accounts. Public funds should be used to help Americans struggling with the pandemic, not to fund negative campaign advertisements.” – NRCC Spokesman Mike Berg
