Democrats “Defund the Police” platform backfires as Seattle crime skyrockets

Axios reports “Democrats, in private and public, are warning that rising crime — and the old and new progressive calls to defund the police — represent the single biggest threat to their electoral chances in 2022.”

Seattle saw its highest homicide number in 26 years in 2020, and residents say they don’t feel safe.
 
If Democrats are so afraid of being labeled weak on crime, why do they continue supporting efforts to defund and even abolish the police?
 
And why hasn’t Washington Democrat Kim Schrier stood up against her party’s Defund the Police platform?
