Economists slam Schrier’s gas pricing legislation

The Daily Caller reports economists are slamming Kim Schrier’s socialist gas pricing control bill, saying it “would have catastrophic consequences including energy supply shortages and increased inflation.”

“I just can’t believe they’re dumb enough to do this,” said Benjamin Zycher, an economist and senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

Economist John Cochrane, a Hoover Institution senior fellow said, “This is kind of obvious. It’s a terrible policy. Go find some of those gorgeous pictures from the 1970s of long gas lines…”

“Just stop. Seriously,” said Austan Goolsbee, who chaired the Council of Economic Advisers during the Obama administration.
