Mike Levin: If Democrats haven’t delivered, then shame on us

October 5, 2022

Mike Levin said at a town hall in February 2021:

  • “…In about 18 months we’ll all be back out there campaigning in earnest…and we’ll have to make the case you put Democrats in charge of the House, the Senate and the White House and the average Americans’ life is a little bit better as a result, and it will be very easy to measure whether or not that’s true…we will (Democrats) have either delivered for the American people, or we haven’t. And if we haven’t, controlling all the levers of government that we do, then shame on us.”

Mike Levin’s constituents tell the Los Angeles Times in October 2022:

  • “If I put gas in my car, I can only put in five or six gallons at a time. It hurts when you have the minimum coming in and a lot of obligations. There’s only so much you can do — pay the bills or get in the car and drive around.”
  • “People need to survive. A lot of people are barely making it.”
  • “Our investments have tanked and gas prices just make it harder to go see people. You really think two or three times before you make any kind of trip.”
  • “I used to fill up my car for $50 bucks; now I fill up for $120.”

NRCC COMMENT: “Californians’ prices are through the roof because of Mike Levin’s reckless spending and war on American energy. Shame on him.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
