Ryan silent over issue that was once top priority
Just after New York City declared an emergency over the influx of migrants that have entered the NYC shelter system, airplanes carrying dozens of unaccompanied migrant children landed at the Orange County Airport over the weekend.
But Pat Ryan – whose second executive order as Ulster County Executive was to make the county a sanctuary for illegal immigrants – has been oddly silent.
As Eric Adams claims “local government cannot be the solution” to the influx of migrants, where is Ryan, who once said, “We welcome anyone and everyone who wants to join and be a part of our community here in Ulster County” as he encouraged illegal immigrants to limit their cooperation with law enforcement?
NRCC Comment: “Progressive Pat Ryan didn’t hesitate to make Ulster County a sanctuary for illegal immigrants, so why is he scared to even mention the migrant crisis happening in his own backyard now?” – NRCC Spokeswoman Samantha Bullock
