NRCC Launches “Majority Makers” Video Highlighting Rep. John James
March 4, 2024
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released a Majority Makers video highlighting Congressman John James’ background, how his story translates to his mission in Congress and how we can pass on a nation that is better and stronger for future generations.
“John James has utilized his values and unmatched experience to deliver real, tangible results for the hardworking men and women of Michigan. James is a product of the American Dream, and he will continue to inspire future generations while building on his motivation to lead.” – NRCC Spokesman Mike Marinella A partial transcript from the video featuring Congressman John James can be found below: “My story does not begin with me. I have a mother who graduated at the top of her class in one of the very first integrated classes at Mississippi State University, and I have a father who was born in the Jim Crow south, lived directly across the street from Mississippi State University and couldn’t go there because he was Black. But he served his country honorably in Vietnam, came back and started a trucking company with one truck, one trailer, and no excuses, and he raised us to believe in this country and recognize that many sacrifices got us this nation.” “My family story motivates me, inspires me, and really reminds me of the duty that I have to protect the American dream for future generations. I’m the walking result of the American Dream.” … “I am excited to come here and bring my supply chain background in business and understanding automotive, but also my military background, understanding what it takes to keep this nation safe from a tactical to a strategic standpoint.” “I recognize that I’ve been tremendously blessed and have to be a blessing to others and we have to be good stewards of the resources that we’ve been given. That’s a big reason why I ran as a Republican because the Republican Party has always been the bold party. It’s the party of emancipation. The party of women’s suffrage. The party of the Civil Rights Movement. Recently, the party of criminal justice reform. The bold stories of making America strong and resilient are things that we’ve been doing for centuries. Remembering where we came from, remembering each of our family stories, will be integral to how we pass on a country that’s better and stronger than what we got to subsequent generations.” |
