NRCC Statement on NC-06 Primary Election

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement on North Carolina’s 6th Congressional district primary election:

“Congratulations to Addison McDowell on his primary victory. Addison has been fighting for North Carolina families for years as a member of Congressman Richard Hudson and then-Congressman Ted Budd’s staffs. North Carolinians want nothing to do with extreme Democrats’ dangerous agenda causing historic inflation and a violent crime wave. North Carolina voters will overwhelmingly send Addison to Congress in November.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar

After redistricting, current NC-06 Representative Democrat Kathy Manning declined to run for reelection in this newly-drawn seat. Trump won the new NC-06 by 16.2%. Cook Political Report rates it as “Solid Republican.”
