Greg Landsman turns Cincinnati into a border town

Under the watch of Greg Landsman, Cincinnati has turned into the unthinkable: a border town with dangerous illegal immigrants and fentanyl plaguing the streets.

Thirty-two years ago, my wife and two children moved to Cincinnati. We raised our son and daughter here, grew a successful business, and employed thousands of people through my health care IT consulting business. We love this community, its people, and proudly call Cincinnati our home. In those 32 years, we’ve seen our share of bad politics and bad public policy decisions, but I firmly believe this area has never seen a politician with a more destructive voting record than our current U.S. representative, Greg Landsman.

In a year and three months, Landsman has accomplished what previously would be considered impossible: He has turned Cincinnati, which is 1,370 miles from Mexico, into a border town.

As of February, over 7.3 million migrants have entered our nation illegally on the Biden administration’s watch, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Incidentally, that’s a number greater than the population of 36 individual states. If the trend of illegal crossing continues for the next two years, there will be more people who have illegally entered our country under Biden than the entire 11.8 million population of Ohio. And the 7.3 million figure does not include an estimated 1.8 million known “gotaways” who evaded law enforcement over that period, according to data from Customs and Border Protection.

In part due to Landsman’s open border policies, along with this flood of illegal crossings comes fentanyl overdoses, increased crime and unvetted foreign nationals from 160 countries including over 20,000 military-aged men and women from China since October 2023, according to Customs and Border Protection.

What’s even more of an indictment is Landsman began his congressional term in 2023 and after witnessing two years of the devastation visited upon our community and country by these harmful open border policies, did he do anything to help stop the invasion or at least strengthen the border? No, Landman did the opposite by aiding and abetting the mayhem. Landsman voted against HR 2-Secure Our Border Bill and HR 3941-Schools Not Shelters Act. The Secure Our Border bill would have provided safeguards against false asylum claims and provided badly needed funding for more border agents and on the ground surveillance technology. The type of surveillance technology border agents could have used to apprehend gangs who eventually smuggle fentanyl into Ohio that kills countless teenage boys and girls in our area.

Landsman was not done. He then proceeded to vote against HR 3941-Schools Not Shelters Act which would have prohibited federal funds going to shelter immigrants who illegally enter the country into our public schools. In cities across the United States such as New York, Chicago, and Boston, we have seen residents rightfully infuriated their children have to take days off from school or can’t use the community recreation center because government officials, like Landsman, think it’s a good idea to house immigrants in their community schools and facilities.

Recently, Landsman is feeling the heat from his constituents and suddenly and miraculously has had a change of heart. He joined several members of his party in a resolution “denouncing the Biden administration’s open-borders policies.” Mind you, this is pure window dressing. It amounts to nothing but an insincere, meaningless public statement. The old proverb “actions speak louder than words” applies here. When it was time to take critical action, Landsman voted for the very actions he now condemns.
