Maine state Rep. Austin Theriault, R-Fort Kent, who is running to represent Maine’s 2nd Congressional District in Congress, is demanding incumbent Rep. Jared Golden return donations from reported supporters of pro-Palestine protests.
Rep. Golden’s campaign received funds from David Rockefeller Jr. and Susan Pritzker between 2018-22. Rockefeller Jr. is a trustee at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, which donates to Jewish Voices for Peace. Pritzker funds organizations indirectly supporting pro-Palestine demonstrations, according to POLITICO.

The lawmaker also took issue with Rep. Golden’s perceived support for President Joe Biden, whose own reelection campaign has received donations from Rockefeller Jr. and Pritzker.
“I’ve been clear since this campaign started: There’s no room for anti-Semitic hate here in America,” Rep. Theriault said. “Unfortunately, it seems that Jared Golden’s campaign funders and many of his Democratic colleagues disagree.”
Rep. Golden did not return The National Desk’s request for comment.
