NRCC Statement on NH-01 Primary Election
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement on New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional district primary election results:
“Congratulations to Russell Prescott on his successful primary win. Russell is a small business owner and former Executive Councilor who always puts New Hampshire families first. His firsthand experience of running a small business and balancing budgets is sharp contrast compared to lifelong politician Chris Pappas. Prescott will work to undo the disasters that extreme Democrat Chris Pappas has inflicted on New Hampshire families, and instead, work to secure our border, lower inflation and end our reliance on foreign oil.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Savannah Viar
Background:
- Despite New Hampshire seeing fatal drug overdoses increasing at a rate faster than the rest of the country, and the fact that US Customs and Border Protection reported that they had witnessed a 4,000 percent increase in fentanyl seizures over the previous three years, Chris Pappas voted against the Secure The Border Act which would restart construction of a border wall and reform asylum.
- Chris Pappas voted for the Inflation Reduction Act which, even Biden admitted, was a misnomer and has not been credited with lowering any inflation.
- In 2023, Pappas voted against H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, which would promote domestic energy production and drive down consumer costs.
