South Texas Democrats in Disarray

September 3, 2025

South Texas Democrats are panicking. In Hidalgo County, which swung 20 points to the right between 2020-2024, a recent Democrat meeting broke out into chaos as their voters desperately search for a direction for their failing brand. The County is partially represented by Radical Democrat Vicente Gonzalez, who won the 34th District by less than 5,200 votes in 2024.

The infighting comes as a stark contrast to Republicans, who are united behind President Trump’s America First agenda and poised to make further gains with Hispanic voters in South Texas.

“As South Texas Democrats continue their implosion, Republicans are unified and ready to flip the 34th District. Democrats have no ideas, no leader, and no identity. Republicans will continue to gain ground with Hispanic voters in the Rio Grande Valley who have had enough of Democrats’ radical far left policies.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson
