Bohannan and Wettach’s Silence is Compliance

September 16, 2025

This past weekend, the Johnson County Board Chair openly defied the Governor’s order to honor Charlie Kirk by refusing to lower flags at county buildings. In response, Democrat candidate Travis Terrell doubled down with a divisive, dangerous statement that proves he’s unfit for public office.

It wasn’t the first time he used dangerous rhetoric. In fact he called President Trump and his supporters fascists in posts earlier this year, echoing the message of Charlie Kirk’s assassin.

This is today’s Democrat Party: Only 38% of Democratsbelieve it is always unacceptable to feel joy at the death of someone they oppose.

Even worse, Christina Bohannan and Taylor Wettach have been silent, refusing to condemn Travis Terrell’s reckless comments or the Board Chair’s defiance. By refusing to speak up, they’re condoning the rhetoric that fuels political violence.

“Silence is compliance. Christina Bohannan and Taylor Wettach’s unwillingness to condemn this dangerous rhetoric tells you everything you need to know about their values.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Emily Tuttle
