ICYMI: Kiggans, McClain Highlight Working Families Tax Cuts’ Positive Impact on Virginia
Majority maker Jen Kiggans was recently joined by House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain in Virginia’s Second District to highlight how the Working Families Tax Cuts is delivering for American manufacturing by helping workers earn more, build more, and strengthen our national security from the ground up.
“Virginians are already feeling the positive impact of the Working Families Tax Cuts. Workers, families, and small businesses know Republicans like Jen Kiggans have their backs, which is why they’ll continue to choose them at the ballot box.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson

Virginia Congresswoman Jen Kiggans welcomed House Republican Chair Lisa McClain to Hampton Roads Friday with a tour of QED Systems in Virginia Beach, a family-owned company that’s been providing ship repair and upgrades for the Navy for more than five decades.
Rep. Kiggans and Rep. McClain say hearing directly from workers helps them shape policy in Washington.

During their walkthrough, Rep. Kiggans and Rep. McClain saw firsthand the training and repair work that helps ships at sea.
“For our district and for companies like this, I want to make sure they’re getting budgets on time and not facing red tape,” said Rep. Kiggans. “Visits like this remind us as legislators where we need to prioritize.”
Q.E.D. has seven facilities across Hampton Roads, and while they do not have waterfront property, more than 100 employees travel to ships. Crews handle engine rebuilds, paint jobs, and replacements to keep naval ships ready.
Rep. Kiggans and Rep. McClain’s visit was a chance to hear about bureaucratic hurdles and funding challenges.
Right now, they say the biggest obstacle for facilities like Q.E.D. is finding enough skilled tradespeople to handle the workload.
“It makes a difference when you come out to facilities like this and talk to the workers to see if the policies we put forth in D.C. are actually helping workers’ families,” said Rep. McClain.
Rep. Kiggans and Rep. McClain say they’ll take these concerns back to lawmakers in Washington, D.C., with the hopes of ensuring companies like Q.E.D. continue to thrive.
