Nellie Pou Doubles Down on Soft-on-Crime Lunacy
Out of touch Democrat Nellie Pou just voted against the DC Crimes Act, once again choosing her soft-on-crime policies over protecting our nation’s communities.
The commonsense bill blocks the D.C. Council from weakening criminal sentences, ends the absurd practice of letting 24-year-old offenders be treated as “youths,” and forces transparency by requiring public reporting of youth crime data – yet Pou just voted against it.
This isn’t the first time Nellie Pou has chosen criminals over public safety. Her record speaks for itself:
- Voted against putting an end to the D.C. Council’s sanctuary policies.
- Voted against supporting law enforcement recently removed by the D.C. Council’s Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act of 2022
- Voted against condemning the violent riots that have taken place in Los Angeles, California and expressing gratitude to law enforcement officers and ICE agents for their work in keeping America safe.
“This is a clear and concerning pattern: out of touch Democrat Nellie Pou will always side with soft-on-crime, far-left radicals over safer communities. It’s dangerous and absurd, but par for the course for Pou.”— NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
