SHUTDOWN GEORGE: Reckless Vote Jeopardizes California

Last week, out of touch Democrat George Whitesides voted to shut down the government and sell out Californians.

His reckless vote could put Californians directly in harm’s way:

• Threatening families’ safety due to law enforcement officers, members of the military, and TSA workers may be forced to work without pay.
• Blocking 25,485 veterans from accessing critical programs, including employment assistance.
• Forcing 9,232 federal workers in CA-27 to work without pay.
• Jeopardizing millions in loan financing for the state’s 4.3 million small businesses.
• Limiting access to financial assistance, including disaster relief, for 524 farmers.
• Endangering funding for the Head Start program that serves 44,106 children in California. 

Bottom line: George Whitesides put a partisan stunt ahead of the livelihoods of everyday Californians.
