Golden’s Democrats Shut Down the Government and Maine Workers Are Suffering

It has officially been one week of the government shutdown and Mainers are feeling the pressure. 

Each week, Mainers are losing $51 million in Gross State Product, about $10 million worth of small business loans are getting held up, and over 17,000 workers are furloughed or working without pay. 

This must end, but Jared Golden does not care. His party voted for this shut down rather than continuing to fund the government and now he’s placing blame everywhere but on himself. 

“Jared Golden’s Democrats are shameful. They voted to shut down the government and, in turn, are hurting Mainers. It is high time they stop playing political games with peoples’ livelihoods and work to put Mainers first.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
