Vindman Faces Firestorm Over Endorsement of Pro-Child Murder Jay Jones
Out of touch Democrat Eugene Vindman is facing a firestorm of bad press over his re-endorsement of Jay Jones, who was exposed for wishing death upon former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his children.
The Daily Caller: Democratic Virginia Rep. Eugene Vindman is doubling down on his support for Jay Jones, Virginia’s Democratic nominee for attorney general, who is facing calls to drop out over revelations he sent text messages fantasizing about murdering a Republican opponent and the deaths of his two children.
Vindman, a freshman lawmaker who skipped a vote condemning political violence in September, reiterated his support for Jones during a post on the social media platform X on Sunday. Unlike some fellow Virginia Democrats, Vindman has neither denounced the candidate’s violent text messages nor called for him to withdraw from the race.
Fox News: The offices of three Democratic House members who have endorsed Jones, Reps. Eugene Vindman, Robert Scott, and Suhas Subramanyam, also did not respond to a request for comment on whether their endorsements still stand… On Sunday, after the National Review report, Vindman reaffirmed his support for Jones in a post on X.
The Hill: On Sunday, Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-Va.), who represents the state’s 7th Congressional District, urged voters in post on the social platform X to “make a plan to vote” for Spanberger, Democratic lieutenant governor nominee Ghazala Hashmi and Jones.
The Center Square: Other Democrats, including Rep. Eugene Vindman, D-Va., have continued to campaign alongside Jones and include him in appeals to voters.
Axios: Republicans are hammering Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-Va.) for apparently endorsing Jones after the text messages became public and after Jones confirmed he wrote them.
“Eugene Vindman and Jay Jones are both unfit to serve Virginians in government. Full stop.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson
