Nellie Pou’s shutdown is squeezing New Jersey small businesses

October 12, 2025

Main Street is feeling the squeeze. Out of touch Democrat Nellie Pou’s shutdown is choking cash flow for small businesses, freezing SBA loan approvals, stalling federal payments and contracts, and delaying permits and certifications that keep projects moving. The result: paused hires, missed orders, and tighter margins for the local employers New Jerseyans count on.

“While small businesses are hustling to make payroll and keep the lights on, Democrat Nellie Pou shut down the government and put Main Street on hold. Pou needs to stop the political games and reopen the government so job creators can get back to work.” — NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
